FAQ
ELIGIBILITY?
The Disciples are Central Virginia’s Homeschool Football Team. Athletes must be full-time homeschool students or students at a private school with no formal football program. We are a Varsity-level program. Our athletes are comprised of young men from 14-18 years of age or 8th-12th grade. Athletes must be no more than 18 years of age on 1 August to compete in the fall season. Athletes can play no more than 5 seasons on the varsity team.

SPORTS PHYSICAL?
Each player is required to pass a Sports Physical before the first practice and file a copy with the Disciples. If the athlete has one on file with the Disciples, it cannot be older than January 1 of the current year.
FEES?
Registration fees for the season are $500 per player.
$100 discount for each additional player from the same family.
Fees are due in full by the first practice unless payment arrangements have been made.
PRACTICES?
Practices start the last week of July and run thru mid-November. MON, TUE, THUR, FRI – 6:00 p.m.- 8:30 p.m. except for game nights. Practice locations are TBD.
SCHEDULE?
Varsity plays 8-9 regular-season games, up to 2 postseason Conference games, and 2 postseason games at the National Homeschool Football Association Tournament in Panama City Beach, Florida.
PLAYING TIME?
The Disciples do not guarantee equal playing time. Varsity teams are competitive and playing-time is earned based on ability, attitude, game & practice performance. All playing time is awarded at the discretion of the coach(es).
UNIFORMS & EQUIPMENT?
Players will be issued practice and game uniforms, belts, helmets, chin straps, shoulder pads, and knee pads.
Mouth Piece/Guard is the responsibility of each player.
Cleats, equipment bags, undergarments, gloves, elbow pads, ankle braces, girdles, specialized gear, etc. are the responsibility of each player.
Families are required to reimburse the Disciples for replacing lost or ruined equipment and uniforms while it is in the player's care.
TRAVEL?
The Disciples play games as far away as Delaware, Central Maryland, and Washington DC. A parent/legal guardian must accompany players while the team is traveling unless acceptable arrangements have been made in advance. It is the responsibility of each player to make proper travel arrangements. This includes the trip to Panama City, Florida, in November. The Disciples DO NOT provide a team bus.
NHFA TOURNAMENT?
The Disciples Varsity team participates in the National Homeschool Football Association Tournament in Panama City Beach, Florida, the Tues-Sat before Thanksgiving every November. Varsity players are expected to make every effort to participate in this tournament. Travel expenses are not included in the player's fees but can be raised via the Disciples fundraising program. Family members are welcome and Disciples families can make the trip to Florida to cheer on the team.
INSURANCE?
The Disciples carry general liability insurance. Medical insurance is NOT provided.
PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT?
The Disciples are a volunteer organization. Your help is needed. We are always in need of people who will: Run Game Clock, Keep Stats, Video Games, Coordinate Fundraisers, Provide Halftime Snacks, Operate the Down Marker and Chains at games, Coordinate year-end parties, and banquets, etc.
COMMUNICATION?
The Disciples communicate exclusively through TeamSnap. Players and parents will need to download the app and turn on notifications so they don’t miss anything.
